Executive Director

Ronald M. Carrere, Jr. is a proud native of New Orleans and holds degrees in Business Administration and Finance, with a specialization in Real Estate Finance, from the University of New Orleans. Currently, he is furthering his education in the Masters of Sustainable Real Estate Development program at Tulane University. He proudly carries the distinction of being an alumnus of esteemed programs like the Harvard Kennedy School’s Art and Practice of Leadership Development, the Bryan Bell Metropolitan Leadership Forum, the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute, the Loyola Institute of Politics, and the Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute.

Ronald presently serves as the Interim Executive Director of the Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute. His professional journey includes serving as the Vice President of Development at Liberty Bank & Trust, where he played a pivotal role in the Real Estate and Commercial Lending Divisions and actively contributed to various community initiatives. Before transitioning to the private sector, he dedicated seven years to public service with the City of New Orleans, working in both the Workforce Development and Economic Development departments.

Currently, Ronald serves on multiple boards, including the City Year New Orleans Advisory Board, DePaul Community Health Services (Daughters of Charity), Amistad Research Center, HBCU Legacy Bowl Host Committee (Vice-Chair), and the Urban League of Louisiana Board (Sr. Vice-Chair).

His extensive history of community engagement also encompasses past roles such as serving on the Dress for Success Board, acting as treasurer for Einstein Charter School, involvement with VAYLA (Vietnamese American Young Leadership Association), participation in the New Orleans East Economic Development Board, Eastern New Orleans Neighborhood Advisory Commission, State of Louisiana Civil Service Commission, and the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute Board (N.O.R.L.I.). Ronald has also contributed to the New Orleans African American Museum Board, Nexus City (as a member), the Regional Planning Commission, and has managed campaigns for various political candidates (now retired). He has been a member of the planning committee for the Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute and the transition teams of Mayor Mitchell Landrieu, Mayor Latoya Cantrell, and Sheriff Marlin Gusman.
